Yes, it's generally recommended to remove your makeup before a facial. This allows the esthetician to properly assess your skin, and it ensures that the products used during the facial can penetrate effectively. Plus, removing makeup beforehand can help prevent any potential irritation or clogged pores during the facial treatment.
-
Our Facials include extractions as part of the process, especially if you have blackheads or whiteheads. During extractions, your esthetician manually removes these impurities from your pores using special tools.
-

Pain levels can vary from person to person and also depend on the area being waxed. Generally, waxing involves some level of discomfort as the hair is removed from the root. However, many people find that the sensation lessens over time as they become accustomed to the process and as hair grows back finer. Additionally, using techniques like breathing exercises or taking over-the-counter pain relievers before waxing can help minimize discomfort. Choosing an experienced esthetician and opting for high-quality wax can also contribute to a more comfortable experience.
-
To prepare for a waxing appointment, follow these steps:
Ensure your hair is at the optimal length: Hair should be about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long for best results. Avoid shaving or trimming the area for at least two weeks prior to your appointment.
Exfoliate: Gently exfoliate the area a day or two before your appointment to remove dead skin cells. This can help prevent ingrown hairs and ensure a smoother waxing experience.
Cleanse the skin: On the day of your appointment, cleanse the area thoroughly with a gentle, non-comedogenic cleanser to remove any oils, sweat, or lotions. Avoid applying any creams or lotions immediately before waxing, as they can interfere with the wax adhering to the hair.
Manage pain: If you're concerned about discomfort, consider taking an over-the-counter pain reliever about 30 minutes before your appointment. Additionally, practicing deep breathing or other relaxation techniques during the waxing process can help minimize discomfort.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing: Choose clothing that won't rub against the waxed area after your appointment to avoid irritation. Loose-fitting clothing can also help prevent friction and allow your skin to breathe.
Communicate with your esthetician: Be sure to communicate any concerns or preferences with your esthetician before the waxing begins. They can provide guidance and ensure you have the best possible experience.
By following these steps, you can help ensure a successful waxing appointment with minimal discomfort.

The duration of results from a waxing session can vary depending on factors such as your hair growth cycle, the area being waxed, and your individual hair growth rate. In general:
Facial areas: Results typically last around 2-4 weeks before hair starts to regrow noticeably.
Body areas: Results can last anywhere from 3-6 weeks before hair regrowth becomes noticeable.
It's important to note that with regular waxing over time, hair can grow back finer and sparser, which may extend the time between waxing sessions. Additionally, factors like hormonal changes, medications, and genetics can influence hair growth patterns.
Maintaining a regular waxing schedule can help prolong the time between sessions and ensure smoother, longer-lasting results.

We use Satin Smooth products for all our waxing services.

We use both hard wax and soft was for waxing services. Each wax is used from different types of waxing services.
Hard Wax:
Application: Hard wax is applied in a thick layer directly onto the skin and allowed to cool and harden before being removed without the use of cloth strips.
Ideal for: Hard wax is typically preferred for sensitive areas or areas with coarse hair, such as the bikini area, underarms, and face. It adheres mainly to the hair, making it less painful than soft wax when removing hair from sensitive areas.
Less Irritation: Hard wax is less likely to cause irritation or damage to the skin because it adheres only to the hair and not the skin.
Soft Wax:
Application: Soft wax is applied in a thin layer onto the skin and removed using cloth strips. It adheres to both the hair and the skin.
Ideal for: Soft wax is commonly used for larger areas of the body such as the legs, arms, and back, where hair is finer and less dense.
Efficiency: Soft wax is often preferred for larger areas because it can remove hair more quickly than hard wax.
Our estheticians may also use a combination of both types of wax for different areas during a single waxing session to achieve the best results.
-
Yes, you can still get waxed while on your period. However, it's essential to communicate this to your esthetician beforehand.
If you're comfortable with it, our estheticians are trained to perform waxing services during menstruation. They'll ensure that you're appropriately covered and provide you with any necessary accommodations to make you feel comfortable during the procedure.
Additionally, keep in mind that some people may be more sensitive to pain during their menstrual cycle, so you may want to take this into consideration when scheduling your waxing appointment.
-
Ensure your hair is at the optimal length: Hair should be about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long for best results. Avoid shaving or trimming the area for at least two weeks prior to your appointment.

Yes, after waxing, there are several activities you should avoid to prevent irritation and ensure the best results:
1. Avoid Hot Baths or Showers: Stick to lukewarm water for at least 24 hours.
2. No Tanning: Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 24-48 hours.
3. Avoid Swimming: Stay out of pools, hot tubs, and the ocean for at least 24 hours.
4. Avoid Heavy Exercise: Skip intense workouts that cause sweating for 24-48 hours.
5. Avoid Tight Clothing: Wear loose-fitting clothes to prevent friction and irritation.
6. Avoid Applying Perfumed Products: Skip using scented lotions, sprays, or deodorants on the waxed area for 24-48 hours.
7. Avoid Touching the Area: Try not to touch or scratch the freshly waxed skin.
These precautions help minimize irritation and the risk of infection, allowing your skin to heal properly.
-
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 24-48 hours.
-
Yes, there is a risk of infection from waxing, although it is generally low if proper hygiene and aftercare are followed. Potential causes of infection include:
1. Bacteria: If the skin is not properly cleaned before waxing or if the waxing tools are not sanitized, bacteria can enter the open hair follicles.
2. Ingrown Hairs: These can become infected if not treated properly.
3. Irritation and Breaks in the Skin: Waxing can cause small tears or irritation, which can be entry points for bacteria.
To minimize the risk of infection, follow these tips:
- Ensure Cleanliness: Make sure the skin and waxing tools are clean.
- Avoid Touching: Do not touch the waxed area with dirty hands.
- Keep the Area Dry: Avoid sweating and keep the area dry.
- Apply Antiseptic: Use a mild antiseptic lotion or cream to prevent bacteria.
- Wear Loose Clothing: To avoid friction and irritation.
If you notice signs of infection such as increased redness, swelling, pus, or severe pain, consult a healthcare professional.
-
Yes, there is a risk that healthy skin may be removed along with the hair during waxing, particularly if the wax is too hot, the technique is incorrect, or the skin is not properly prepared. This can lead to irritation, redness, and even minor wounds. To minimize this risk, consider the following tips:
1. Proper Skin Preparation: Ensure the skin is clean and dry before waxing. Exfoliate gently a day or two before to remove dead skin cells.
2. Correct Wax Temperature: Ensure the wax is at the right temperature—not too hot—to avoid burns and skin removal.
3. Use Appropriate Wax: Choose a wax suitable for your skin type and the area being treated. For sensitive areas, consider using hard wax, which is gentler on the skin.
4. Proper Technique: Apply the wax in the direction of hair growth and remove it against the direction of hair growth in a quick motion.
5. Professional Help: If you are unsure about waxing yourself, consider seeking professional assistance to ensure the process is done safely.
If you do experience skin removal, keep the area clean and moisturized, avoid sun exposure, and consider using a soothing lotion or aloe vera to aid healing.
-
The pain and discomfort following waxing can vary depending on several factors, including the area waxed, individual pain tolerance, and skin sensitivity. Generally, you can expect:
1. Immediately After Waxing: The area may feel tender, sore, and slightly red. This discomfort usually lasts for a few hours.
2. Within the First 24 Hours: Mild pain or sensitivity might persist, especially if it's your first time waxing or if a sensitive area was treated. Redness and minor swelling are also common.
3. After 24-48 Hours: The pain and sensitivity should significantly decrease. Any redness or swelling should also start to subside.
To help alleviate pain and reduce discomfort:
- Apply a Cool Compress: This can help soothe the skin and reduce inflammation.
- Use Over-the-Counter Pain Relievers: If necessary, take an OTC pain reliever like ibuprofen.
- Apply Soothing Lotion: Use aloe vera gel or a fragrance-free moisturizer to calm the skin.
- Avoid Irritants: Refrain from using products with alcohol or strong fragrances on the waxed area.
- Wear Loose Clothing: This helps reduce friction and irritation.
If pain or redness persists beyond a couple of days or if you notice signs of infection, consult a healthcare professional.
